Split system air conditioner installation in the Perth Hills
A split system only performs as well as its installation. Kivalo Electrical installs split system air conditioners for homes and businesses across the Perth Hills and greater Perth, with a clean, compliant install done right the first time.

We hold an Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) licence (L226777) as well as our electrical contractor licence (EC17474).
Getting the location right
- Indoor unit: placed so airflow reaches the room evenly and doesn't blow directly on beds or seating.
- Outdoor unit: with clear airflow, easy access for servicing, and away from neighbours' bedrooms where possible.
- Pipe and cable runs: kept as short and tidy as practical.
Choosing the right size
Bigger isn't always better. Room size, ceiling height, insulation, windows and how much sun the room gets all affect how much capacity you need. A unit that's too small struggles on hot days, and one that's too large can cycle on and off and feel less comfortable.
If you're not sure what size suits your space, ask us before you buy.
Power supply and your switchboard
Split systems generally need their own circuit, sized to the unit. Older switchboards may not have room or the right protection for another circuit. If yours is full or outdated, we can look at a switchboard upgrade as part of the job.
Getting a quote
Tell us which room (or rooms) you want cooled, the make and model if you've already chosen one, and send a photo of your switchboard and the wall where the unit would go. That's usually enough for us to talk you through the options.
What affects the cost
Every home is different, so the price depends on the unit and the site. A photo of where the indoor and outdoor units will go, and of your switchboard, lets us quote accurately. What affects the cost:
- The size and type of unit, and whether you supply it or we do.
- The distance between the indoor and outdoor units, which sets the length of the pipe and cable run.
- The wall type and access: brick, double storey, tight roof space or a high wall bracket.
- Whether your switchboard has room for a new circuit, or needs upgrading first.
- Drainage for condensation, and making good where the pipes go through.

FAQ
Split system installation: your questions answered.
Does a split system need its own circuit?
Generally yes. The exact requirements depend on the unit, so the installer checks the manufacturer's specifications and your switchboard's capacity.
How big a split system do I need?
It depends on the room's size, ceiling height, insulation, windows and sun exposure. Give us the details and we'll advise before you buy.
Will my switchboard need upgrading?
Sometimes. If the board is full, old, or doesn't have modern protection, an upgrade may be needed before adding a new circuit. We'll tell you if that's the case.
